> Assistant Director, Pullen Arts Center, City of Raleigh, July 2023-June 2024.
Program Management: Manages Visual Arts programs and develops new programs for children, teens, and families, assigns and hires Teaching Artists and staff, programs curriculum planning, develops program budgets, tracks program expenditures and revenue, procures supplies and equipment
Schedules and markets programs, communicates with student, parent, and Teaching Artists, conducts class observations, manages records including registrations, attendance, and surveys, and manages patron concerns.
Facility Management: Conducts regular inspections and preventative maintenance of studios and studio equipment. Recommends equipment repair, replacement, or purchase. Follows completion of training, assist with oversight of chemical and/or hazardous materials management in studios. Regularly inspects park grounds and exterior amenities. Maintains awareness of facility schedule including programs, rentals, and special events. Provides after-hours needs such as supporting staff, responding to alarms, emergency situations or inclement weather, and managing patrons and staff during emergency situations.
Staff Leadership and Development: Fosters a creative community education and maker space for artists of all levels through programming that inspires, empowers, and nurtures participants to grow as artists, craftspeople, and creative community members. Recruits and hires teaching artists, front desk, studio, and camp staff. Supervises the work of front desk, studio, and camp staff including scheduling staff, performance evaluations, and addressing and documenting performance issues. Conducts regular staff meetings and/or manages staff communications and develop and conduct staff training(s) as needed. Plans front desk schedule work schedules and assigns work to staff.
